Mission

The Experts Group is a consultative entity set up by the Commission Services in order to provide advice and expertise, in the area of the securities markets, to the Commission and its services in relation to (i) the preparation of the Commission’s legislative proposals and policy initiatives; (ii) the preparation of delegated acts, in accordance with the Declaration 39 on Article 290 TFEU, annexed to the Final Act of the Intergovernmental Conference which adopted the Treaty of Lisbon, signed on 13 December 2007, and in accordance with the established practice of the European Securities Committee; and (iii) the implementation of existing EU legislation, programmes and policies, as well as the coordination and cooperation with Member States.
