Mission

Preparing the political chapter of the progress reports on candidate countries and potential candidates.
Regarding the political criteria, the progress reports will examine, for each country, the quality of democracy and the rule of law, as well as human rights including the respect for and protection of minorities and the country’s record in observing international human rights law.

Task

Provides expertise to the Commission when drafting of implementing measures, i.e. before the Commission submits these draft measures to a comitology committee
